Happy Birthday Hallie!!

Today is my sister's 18th birthday!! I cannot believe she is that old already! In honor of her special day, Madelyn and I spent the whole day with her.... Playing with the Birthday Girl... We went to the mall...(playing in the dressing room of Nordstom's!!)And then went to Babe's for dinner!HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUNT HALLIE!!!

Virus

Well the doctor said that Madelyn and Mommy have a virus that must run its course!! The good news is that Madelyn's ears, nose and throat look great and that her lungs sound clear. He gave us something that will help Madelyn feel a little bit better. I am glad that it is nothing worse but frustrating that there is nothing that we can do....We are going to go to bed early tonight and hope that we can get over this quick!

Changes

Little did I know that when I decided to change the background of the blog, it would delete everything off it!!! I am working on trying to get it all back...be patient please :)

Spring Break

It is Spring Break week!! This means one whole week of no work and all the playing with Madelyn that I can get! Yea!! Madelyn is still feeling a little under the weather so we have a pedi appointment this afternoon - I hope it is not the flu!! I love this child!! She is so precious and is always smiling...She is our pride and joy and we could not be any happier!!

Wedding Fun

Last night by parents took care of Madelyn so that Derek and I could go to a wedding of some good friends from Baylor. It was such a beautiful wedding and really nice to get out of the house with some other grown ups!! Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. Riley :)**Note to self: MUST LOSE WEIGHT!!

Sleep

I LOVE watching Madelyn sleep...She is so cute and peaceful!! On the same note, her sleeping schedule seems to be back on track. Last night she even slept over 12 hours!! I was so nice to sleep past 6:00AM.

Quick Post

Now Mommy is not feeling very well so this will be quick...Not much new going on here...Madelyn is still not feeling too well - we are going to to pedi on Monday. Here are some new pictures...Look how big I am getting!!!What a cutie pie!!!

Not feeling well

Madelyn is a little under the weather tonight...She has been coughing and snotty for the past few days but I was not worried until tonight. She is coughing ALOT today and coughed so much during dinner that she gagged herself and threw up!! I feel so bad for her...she is running a low grade fever and just generally feeling yucky...We have a pedi appointment for Monday but I am not sure we should wait that long! Lets hope that she does not get worse overnight...

Kappa Kappa Gamma, Kappa Sigma Baylor Sing 2008

So I found out from Summer that KKG and Kappa Sig won sing this year! For those of you who went to Baylor or know about Sing, you know that it is a big deal to win sing and entitles the winners to lots of bragging rights...For those of you not familiar with Sing it is basically like a short Broadway show completely done by college students. It is amazing to me the quality of these acts. I was never a part of our sororities performance for two reasons; I have no dancing or singing talent and did not want to embarrass myself and I had no desire to spend 4-5 hours A NIGHT practicing...Anyway, go KKG!!!

Family

This weekend we had some family come in from the Chicago area...Madelyn was such a doll and was pretty happy the entire time they were here. It threw Madelyn a little off schedule but she is almost back to normal!! Here are some pictures...

Church

Madelyn got a new church dress this weekend from some family and she looked so cute I could not resist taking a picture of her!! How cute is she??? When we were waiting for church to start Madelyn was watching all the people filling in and actually waving to them!! She will not do it on cue but she was waving to all the people at church. She would get mad when people would not wave back at her!! :) She has such a little personality :)

What's New??

Madelyn has a new obsession - the tile floor...all she wants to do right now is crawl around on the tile floor...She has discovered that not only does it make a cool slapping sound when she crawls but that it can take her to places in the house she has not been before...

On a separate note, she is getting ANOTHER tooth (yes, this will make #8) and is slightly fussy because of it.

Wacky Texas Weather!

As many of you already know, the weather down here in Texas is crazy at times!! When the news calls for snow I never take it too seriously because they are always crying wolf and want to make a big deal out of everything!! But this time they were right....Last weekend when Madelyn staying with my parents, she was swimming in their pool and 5 days later is was snowing like crazy!!! I don't know how much we officially got around here but I know that we were hit pretty hard and it snowed BIG flakes all afternoon yesterday. By lunch time today, it is starting to melt away. I am desperately trying to become a better photographer so I was really excited to have something to practice with (other than Madelyn!). Here are my attempts... Let me know what you think!

Lazy Afternoon

Today I took a half day because we had family driving in today. They were supposed to arrive around 2:00 so Madelyn and I got home after lunch to wait for them...Since the weather in Texas is so wacko this is what we did all afternoon... We watched the snow!! Yes, it sometimes snows in Texas. When I left work around 12:30 it was just starting to sleet and snow. By the time I got home, there were small amounts of the white stuff on the ground and it did not stop all afternoon...Our guests did not arrive until after 5:00 and spent 4 hours going 40 miles!!! Here are a few "after" pictures...There will be more later.

Date Night

Tonight my parents were so gracious to babysit Madelyn. So Derek and I went out to dinner, ran some errands and watched a movie. It is nice to have a day/night off every now and again but I really miss my little pumpkin. I am totally obsessive and have called about 10 times now!! I know that she is in great hands but I really miss her! Mommy and the tired sweetie!

Mornings

This is typical of our morning routine...Madelyn likes to play in her pack and play while Mommy and Daddy are getting ready...Her new favorite toy is a tennis ball (which she got before the dogs got it :)) Not too much new going on here....I have had several people that have asked about how to comment so here is the deal. tired

Madelyn has not been napping at day care (what a surprise since she is not a napper!). Because of this, she has been kind of cranky in the evenings. Last night, I put her in her high chair and gave her some puffs while I made her dinner and our dinner. When I turned back around, she was asleep in her high chair! I could not keep that girl awake so I finally just put her in her bed thinking it was going to be a long night, but she slept all evening and through the entire night!! I guess she was super tired :)

When we are playing in the living room, Madelyn loves to crawl to the breakfast room and bang on the tile. She will crawl away from me and then look back to make sure I see where she is going :) What a silly little girl!

8 Months

Happy 8th month BDay to our little muffin! I cannot believe that Madelyn is already 8 months old!! She is growing so fast and is such a sweet and happy little girl :)

Anywho...Madelyn got a few new toys for Christmas that we are just now using. She got two different animals to ride on and before now, she could not sit up well enough to play with them but we tried them this weekend and she loved them!! She wanted to get back on whenever we took her off.
