What the hail??

Last night was rough! We had a hailstorm that resulted in major damage for not only our house but our cars as well! It woke us up around 10:30 and was super scary...It was so loud, I thought that the house was coming down around us! The power also went out here for a few hours...I tried to take a few pictures but it was too scary to venture into the yard very far. I took these at the beginning, before the worst of the storm so they are on the smaller end of what we ended up getting. The news is reporting that we got between golf ball and tennis ball size hail!

OB Appointment - 17.5 weeks

Today was another quick and painless appointment at the OB. We started with weight and I am only up 7 pounds overall. This is very good for me - I gained much more with Madelyn! Then blood pressure - it was also very good, 120/72. Then the doctor came in and we talked for a few minutes about how things are going and she was pleased that I am starting to feel much better. The last thing was the heartbeat - Dr. Patton found it right away and it was 152 bpm. We set an appointment for an ultrasound on April 21st and another regular OB appointment for a week later! Cannot wait to see this little one again! :)
We had open house tonight at school so since I was already sort of dressed up, I had Derek take another belly picture. It is not great but I want to document!

Bedtime

As Madelyn is approaching 2 (she is now 21 months) she is starting to resist bedtime. Until recently, she has been religiously going to bed around 6:30 every night and sleeping all night. I know that this is early but she is not a big napper during the day and always seemed so tired that 6:30 was a logical time. I think that she is beginning to grow out of this early bedtime. We tried around 7 tonight and bedtime went a lot smoother! So, I put a poll up on the sidebar because I am curious to see what time your little ones go to bed!

Sleepy Girl!

Madelyn has been having some trouble with nap time lately! She does not want to nap and then wakes up after 30 minutes on the dot! This past week, Madelyn woke up too early one day and then decided that she was not done sleeping. She fell back asleep on the couch for more than an hour! I couldn't bear to move her so I sat on the floor in front of the couch and watched a movie.

Gigi's Outside

Gigi got some new outside toys for Madelyn. She loves them! We were able to play with them last weekend for the first time. More reasons to love Gigi's house :)

Gigi's books

Gigi has always kept "coffee table" books on the bottom level of the coffee table and Madelyn has always been really interested in them. Instead of taking them away from her everytime, Gigi decided to just stock it with Madelyn's books instead. Madelyn thinks those books are special and that is the first place she heads to when we are over at Gigi's house.

We Heart Daddy!

I think that Madelyn's favorite time of the day is right before bedtime when she gets her last playtime with Daddy. She will not go to bed unless she gets a Daddy hug (which usually turns into more playtime :)) and will cling to him! It is so sweet to see her pure joy when she is with him!

How do you keep a sick toddler occupied all day??

Madelyn has had a runny nose for a few days but no other symptoms so we thought it was just allergies or a mild cold. Yesterday when Madelyn woke up, the first thing she said to me was "ow" and pointed to her ear! I immediately called the doctor and got an appointment for the morning. Come to find out, she did have a cold but the drainage settled in her ears and she now has a double ear infection! Poor baby. She actually is acting like she is not that sick just a little crankier than usual! After the doctor and a little nap, I decided I needed to keep Madelyn occupied and happy to minimize the fussiness. So we,
Pulled out all the magazines, looked through them one-by-one and then started over again!

Happy Feet

Madelyn has a slight obsession with penguins (she even has a penguin dance) so recently Gigi gave Madelyn a copy of "Happy Feet". This past Sunday morning we decided to have a movie morning. Now, she will not sit through the whole movie by any means but I think that she actually sat and watched about 30 minutes of it!

We have had some family in town for the past couple of days which although was super fun, has thrown Madelyn off her schedule...Well, today Madelyn decided to not only wake up early (before 7) but she also decided not to take a nap at all today.Madelyn has not been feeling very well the past few days and this morning was not a walk in the park. After trying to put her down for over an hour and a 30 minute walk she was still wide awake! So instead of fighting it we played outside - always a favorite. Needless to say, she went to bed early tonight! Let's hope being home this week will help her get back on her schedule!

Fort Worth Zoo

Today we ventured out to the Fort Worth Zoo. Madelyn loves animals and I have been wanting to take her to the zoo for a while. The zoo was super packed so I did not get great pictures. Plus, Madelyn was way more interested in the animals than looking at the camera. But, overall it was a great trip! :)
