Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween from the Bird Family!

We spent the morning at Gigi's house making Halloween cookies and playing outside. Madelyn had such a great time placing them on the cookie sheet and then of course eating them!!

We got home just in time to get ready for Trick or Treating! Madelyn had been going back and forth between loving her butterfly costume and being scared of it so I was anxious to see what she would think tonight. Luckily, she was excited to put it on! Mason was just hanging out most of the night! Madelyn got really into the Trick or Treating and we ended up staying out much longer that I thought we would! (I carried Mason in a pouch and took pictures at the same time. Some of them are pretty blurry because he has wriggling around and I could not keep the camera steady :()

2 Months!!

Were did the time go? How is my little baby boy 2 months old already??

Things about Mason at 2 months:

Weight: 14 pounds, 8 ounces (97%)
Height: 23 1/2 inches (90%)
Head: 16 inches (95%)

He is on a pretty predictable 3 hour schedule. He eats every 3 hours (sometimes he can go 4 hours). He is awake for a while after a feeding and then will take a nap (usually around 1 1/2 hours) until it is time to eat again! He is a great nurser and is getting really fast.

Mason is such a wonderful sleeper. We start our bedtime routine after Madelyn goes down around 7:30. This includes a bath, lotion, pj's, some quiet play time and then eating. By 8:00ish, he is super sleepy and full and is ready for bed. He usually sleeps from 8ish to 4ish when he eats and goes right back to sleep until it is time to go to school. What a sweet boy!

Back to School

Today was my first day back to work after my maternity leave. This means that it was Mason's first day at daycare. I was not worried about Madelyn because she has been going part time to this daycare since school started but this would be the first time that I would be away from Mason. I was worried that he would not eat for them - he is a champion nurser but does not care for a bottle. There were a few tears when I dropped him off but I really have a great feeling about this daycare that I was mostly okay.

I did call around 10 and they let me know that he was not taking his first bottle and was pretty upset about it (they forced him to take 1 ounce). This worried me but I figured that if he got hungry enough, he would eat. I called again after school and felt better because he took his other two bottles great!

I was so happy to go and pick up my little ones after school and get good reports from both of them!

Family Fun

We spent the day in Flower Mound again to be with the family from Michigan...Madelyn had a great time playing in the backyard with Gigi and Aunt Hallie and Mason had a wonderful time hanging out with Great Grandma Workman!

Madelyn Time!

While Mason naps or is hanging out with Daddy, I have been trying to spend some one on one time with Madelyn. Today we went outside and had a great time in the wind!

Fall Festival

Madelyn's school had their fall festival today and since it was my last day of maternity leave, I decided to come to the party for a little bit. They had so many fun activities planned for most of the day and I planned on staying for a few hours. Unfortunatly, my camera battery ran out fairly early and Mason had a massive blowout so we headed home earlier than expected...we had fun though and Madelyn loved having Mommy and Mason there!

Today Madelyn, Mason and I spent the day with family in from Michigan. It was great to see Grandma Workman, Aunt Diane, and Uncle Jon!
