Clapping

Madelyn started clapping today!! We are still working on her walking and after she does good we always clap and cheer for her and today she decided to clap along! It was so cute :) Madelyn has also cut another tooth - it is the bottom molar...She now has 11 teeth!!

Dance, Dance, Dance

On Saturday mornings when Madelyn wakes up, we play in the living room and watch the Disney Channel cartoons. There is this cartoon called something like the Choo Choo Train. This is really just singing and dancing...Madelyn LOVES it! She will dance and play through the whole thing! :)

Big Girl Clothes

I love now that Madelyn is wearing a bigger size. All the clothes are precious mini grown up clothes. I think it is so cute when she wears something that I would wear!!

Bath Fun

Madelyn LOVES bath time...We went out this weekend and bought her a blow up duckie bath tub that she can sit in and splash around. I thought that she would be thrilled...not the case, she was terrified of the thing! Then we tried having her sit in the big tub with a little bit of water and all she wanted to do was stand up and get out...So,we are back to bathing in the bath chair and she is back to loving bath time again!

11 Months!!

I cannot believe that Madelyn is 11 months old! This time next month she will be a year old! This year has been the best and the fastest ever! We go to the doctor again next month so I will have more stats then...

Madelyn is very close to walking. She is standing on her own for a little while at a time and walking all around while holding onto something...She has taken a few steps on her own but gets very excited to walk any more. She is still loving bath time and has now really taken to swimming. She is still eating very well and some of her favorites include: mandarin oranges, cheese quesadillas, mac and cheese, and corn! She has really been sleeping well lately - most nights she sleeps around 11-13 hours! It is so nice.

This month we will be working on a few things. We will start the transition from formula to whole milk. When I am done with work, I am going to start mixing the formula with milk so that we can go straight milk when she turns one. The doctor said that he would like her to be close to all milk by 11 and 1/2 months old. We are also going to transition between bottles and sippy cups. We have started taking water and juice out of a Gerber Transition bottle - I love these things! - and she seems to be doing very well.

Breaking News...

About 15 minutes ago, Madelyn took two steps on her own!!! Derek and I were on the floor working with her standing and walking and she went from Derek to me on her own!! She was so excited!

2 Weeks Until...

SUMMER VACATION!! I am so excited to get to spend all summer with Madelyn and be a temporary stay-at-home mom!! I cannot wait...but, I do need some suggestions to do with Madelyn this summer...Does anyone have any ideas to keep a 1 year old entertained? I am also looking for some other kiddos that Madelyn can play with this summer...I would like to join some play groups or something. Does anyone know of any that would consider adding a sweet (almost) 1 year old for the summer?? Anyway, I got a present in the mail today...I love them :)

A Year Ago Today....

Today at work, a friend (who has a precious little boy of her own!) and I were talking about when Madelyn reached certain milestones (like sitting, crawling, ect). This prompted me to look back at all the pictures that are on my computer...I love looking back and seeing what was happening a few months ago or even a few years ago. I was looking back and found my file of baby shower and baby preparation photos. It is fun to think about what I was doing last year (anxiously waiting and preparing for Madelyn!) and compare to what I am doing this year (chasing around a happy almost 11 month old!)...

Shopping!

This weekend, Madelyn and I decided to venture out in the heat and go shopping at the Southlake Town Square. The shopping trip was not very successful but that place is so pretty and the weather was beautiful so I decided to take some impromptu pictures!! Madelyn was much more interested in the grass and people than looking at the camera! :) Any tips for getting a 10 month old to look at the camera???

Madelyn is obsessed with her duck bath toys (she calles them da's) so we thought that she might like to see and feed the real thing. There is a pond not far from our house and since it was such a beautiful day, we decided to take Madelyn there this morning to see the ducks...

A few days ago we were over at my parents house eating Bar-B-Que from the country (YUMMY) and Madelyn was very interested in what we were eating. Madelyn really wanted to try a pickle so we did :) and here are her reactions...

I'm Ready for my Close-Up!

I am getting a lot of close up pictures of Madelyn because she wants to be by me ALL the time. I cannot go two feet away before she is crawling after me! (I love it!!) She is becoming a Mommy's girl lately...She also loves to try and get the camera when I pull it out. I will get a shot ready and by the time I click it, she is half way to me already :) What a silly silly little girl!
