OB Appointment - 21 weeks

I went in for another check up this morning...It went really well and was a really quick appointment. Some of the stats:

Mason's Heart rate: around 145 (I cannot remember exactly!) which is perfect! Momma's Weight Gain: 16 pounds overall (not too bad for me!)
Momma's Blood Pressure: 126/76 (pretty good!)

Dr. Patton wants to get another look at Mason to get some more measurements and check some fibroids that I have so we have another sono appointment in three weeks! I cannot wait to see that baby boy again!

I am really feeling Mason kick a lot now...he is one active little boy (especially in the evenings and at night!) I have been really craving chips lately. I am not usually a chip person at all - I have never really liked them. I am also craving any type of bread/carbs! Not so good for the weight gain!

Where's Madelyn??

I was working on getting laundry put away and Madelyn was playing around the house. It suddenly got very quiet so I went in search of Madelyn. I spied a few little toes behind the shower curtain...She stayed there giggling until I called out "Where's Madelyn?". She then jumped out and yelled "Boo!". Luckily, I had my camera with me! :)

Lazy Saturday

Madelyn and I were both not feeling very well today so we had a very lazy day. We spent most of the time at home, relaxing and watching movies.

He Has a Name!

Derek and I have chosen the name Mason Charles Bird for our little boy. Mason is a name that Derek and I both really like and we think that it goes well with Madelyn. Charles is after my grandfather. After he suddenly died a few months before Derek and I got married, I knew that the middle name of my little boy had to be Charles. I think that it is a great way to remember and honor my Papa! It is very special to us. We are very excited to meet our little Mason and we have been teaching Madelyn to say "brother" and "Mason".

It's A....

WE ARE SO EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE THAT WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!

We are super thrilled to be having a healthy, wonderful little boy! Our ultrasound went well and it was great seeing the little one again. I go back again on Monday to meet with the doctor and for my routine appointment.

When we had out 20 week ultrasound with Madelyn, it was like pulling teeth to find out what she was...I had to roll over on each side and coax her to uncross her legs. We were prepared for this to be the same story. The tech took one look for about 2 seconds and announced that it was totally boy! The look on Derek's face was priceless - he was so thrilled! :)

The baby was in a funny position (bum up and head buried) so they were not able to get all the measurements they wanted, so we are going to schedule another ultrasound! YEA! The following picture is not great due to the weird position the baby is in, but cute anyway! :)

Jumping Party

Today a friend from Madelyn's school had a birthday party at a jumping place. It was quite a drive for us but I know Madelyn loves to jump so we headed out. It was so much fun and so tiring too! It was a private party so we had the run of the place and even though some of the things were pretty big, Madelyn did well. I also went on most of them with her and I am sore already!! Several of Madelyn's friends from school were there also and they had a blast playing together! It was such a fun party...

Half Way Point

Today marks the half-way point in this pregnancy. I cannot believe that we are half way to meeting our new little one! I am starting to feel so much better and definitely adding some weight that I was missing in my first trimester. It is getting much harder to pick up and put down Madelyn, especially in and out of her crib! We have our 20 week Ultrasound on Tuesday morning. We are hoping that the baby will cooperate and we can find out what we are having!! We are also praying for everything to check out perfect. I have been feeling the baby move for a little while now but it is getting much more pronounced. I can feel it from the outside and sometimes see it a little bit :). Here is a 20 week picture...not too happy with it but wanted to document the growing tummy! :)
