There are not many pictures of Madelyn and I because I am usually behind the camera. Here are a few from some of the great cuddle time we got over Christmas break!

Music Table

For Christmas, Madelyn got a music table. When it came in the mail Madelyn carried it around for a while until I opened it for her and put it together. She played with it for probably around an hour! She really likes it :)

Blue's Clues

This child is totally OBESSED with Blue's Clues. She will do the hand motions (opening and closing her hands) while saying it over and over. We got her a Blue's Clue DVD and she asks to watch it all day!

Bath Time!

Madelyn still loves bath time! She got some new bath toys for Christmas and begs to take a bath everynight!! She would stay in the bath all night if I let her.

Allergic to pregnancy??

So ever since I found out I was pregnant I have had a nasty case of HIVES!! Yuck! I had them in high school and then again in college for a bit and we had decided that they were stress related (I am a very high strung and stressful person!) and an allergic reaction to something we could never identify (most likely a pollen or something in the air). So when I started to get hives this time I was concerned something was really wrong with the baby. When I went to the OB yesterday we talked about it for a long time and she said they are due to stress (of course) and my raging hormones! So nothing to worry about. They look really bad in the picture but are getting much better! PS - Please ignore my nasty feet, I am in desperate need of a pedicure!

1st OB Appointment - 5 weeks

Today was my first OB appointment. Although it was not very exciting, Dr. Patton did answer some of my questions and concerns. It was still too early to hear the heartbeat or do an ultrasound but I have one scheduled for my next appointment in 4 weeks! I cannot wait to see this little one! This appointment was basically getting all sorts of bloodwork done. We did talk about plans for the pregnancy and Dr. Patton let me know that since I was on bed rest with Madelyn (because of high blood pressure) that she would not be surprised if I was put on bed rest for this one as well! She gave me some more vitamins and that was about it! She also set my due date for September 3, 2009 although it might slightly change when she measures during the ultrasound.

Shoes!

Madelyn is obsessed with shoes - she loves to put them on (and then take them off). She will go running to find them when you tell her it is time to leave. Here she is trying to help Mommy by putting her shoes on!

Word of the Year 2009

While purusing my blog list tonight, I can across this post at TipJunkie. I thought it was a neat idea so for the first time, I am entering a contest and replying to someone else's blog! My Word of the Year for 2009 is: FAITH. I want to make a resolution that I will have more faith this year and not stress so much about EVERYTHING! I am going to let go of things that stress me out that do not need to!

Why buy expensive toys...

when Madelyn's favorite thing to play with is an empty box and coasters. She will spend hours taking the coasters in and out of the box and carrying it around!

Show Off!!

Madelyn is such a camera ham!! Anytime I get that camera out, she will either not look at me or rush the camera and start acting goofy! These are some silly pictures that I got a few nights ago!

Totally Exhausted!

At about 5 weeks into this pregnancy, I am TOTALLY EXHAUSTED. I do not remember being this tired with Madelyn. Although, that probably has something to do that I am chasing around a VERY active 18 month old this time. If I ever slow down for a minute during the day, I am out! I have taken several naps in Madelyn's play room while she plays. Not the most comfortable but I cannot stay awake! Did anyone else go through this sheer exhaustion? Does it last the whole pregnancy?

Big Tummy

Madelyn is really slimming down lately (maybe because she NEVER stops moving, jumping and running around!) but she still has that precious big milk tummy!!!

18-Month Pedi Appointment

Today Madelyn had her 18-month check up (a week late because of the holidays...she turned 18 months on December 26). Here are her stats:

Weight: 28 pounds (92%)

Height: 33 3/4 inches (95%)

Teeth: 16

The doctor said that Madelyn is the perfect toddler. She is above level with her language (she can say between 50-60 words!) and is doing very well developmentally: her soft spot is closed like it should be, and she can run, jump and climb! She actually had lost 2 pounds since her last appointment but the pedi was not concerned at all because she is still high on the charts and he said that her height and weight are proportionate! He also said that she is cutting her 2 year molars - her gums are swollen and on the left side you can see a little white! She had to get one shot this time (since we delayed several of her shots) and one when she is 2 and then she will be done with her infant shots! YEA!! Overall, it was a very good appointment. We go back on her 2nd birthday. Here are some pictures of her playing while waiting for the doctor (taken with my little camera!)...

New Project!

I have spent this winter break being fairly crafty. These are brag books and are very simple. I did not get as many done as I had wanted but I am pretty proud of my craftyness!

Humidity!

I have never seen Madelyn's hair this curly so I had to take some pictures...It is the product of an air dry morning bath and super humidity! I think that it is so precious - it has not been that curly since...Her hair was actually managable that day. It might be about time to get that first haircut - her hair is going into her eyes!

Knock on Wood

I am still only very early pregnant and I do not want to jinx it but, the morning sickness this go around is so much better than with Madelyn. With Madelyn, I was sick from the moment I saw the two lines until well into my 2nd trimester. I even had to get on two different medicines before one even worked. This time, I was a little yucky feeling the day I took a test and then just tired and sick to my stomach only in the late evening...Let's hope that this time is much better for morning (or all day) sickness.

Bella

My parents recently acquired a new puppy named Bella. She is a very sweet and very calm puppy. We decided to introduce Madelyn and Bella. At first, Madelyn was very wary of Bella and did not even want to be on the floor with her but after several more meetings, Madelyn and Bella are now best buddies. Madelyn will even ask for Bella sometimes! They are so cute. These are some pictures from their first meeting about a week ago!
