another one for tonight

I am getting faster...

Scrapbooking Pages

When Madelyn was only a few months old I got some digital scrapbooking software and promised myself that I was going to start a digital scrapbook for Madelyn...A "few" months later I have not done much in that area!! After getting to know Photoshop better, I am getting back into digital scrapbooking and here are two of my most recent products...I am going to try and do current layouts but also go back and make up some that I missed!! Hope that you enjoy :) **Don't forget that you can click on the pictures to make them larger!!**

Home Sick

Madelyn and I are home sick today. We went to the doctor this morning and Madelyn has an upper respiratory infection and an eye infection. Unfortunately, the upper respiratory infection is viral and cannot be treated with antibiotics but he did give us a drop for her eye. That should be interesting trying to get eye drops into a super active 15 month old's eye!!! Her fever broke this morning so hopefully she will start to feel better soon!! Here is a video from yesterday....

Yes, those are diaper pail refills. Yes, she wore them around the house all afternoon. Yes, she screamed and cried when I took them away...

Hide and Seek

The other day, I was in the kitchen washing dishes and Madelyn was playing on the other side of the breakfast bar. It got very quiet all of a sudden and when I went around the corner looking for her, I did not see Madelyn. After a quick freak out :) I saw her "hiding" on the far side of her toy chest reading her books. She was watching me running around looking for her and smiling :). What a sweet little girl!

Parade!

This morning Madelyn and I walked in the Homecoming Parade! It went fairly well. Madelyn is not a big fan of sitting in her stroller so I was worried she would be fussy. She did very well in the beginning, looking at all the people and clapping as we walked. She started to get fussy about 30 minutes in (it was getting close to nap time). We made it to the end and went home. Later this afternoon, I realized that Madelyn felt pretty warm so I took her temp and sure enough, she had one. It stayed low grade but she has also been fussy and messing with her ear so I am hoping it is not an ear infection.

Homecoming

The school district I work for is fairly small. It has only one high school so Homecoming is a big deal through out the district. Today at Madelyn's day care (she goes to the district run day care for employees) they had a Homecoming Parade around the school and there is a parade tomorrow that Madelyn and I are in. So my friend, Jennifer and I decided to make outfits for the girls to wear for Homecoming! Any excuse to get creative :) I will try and get a picture of the two of them at the parade tomorrow.

Slide!!

Madelyn finally learned how to slide on her Kangaroo Climber...She climbs up the slide and then turns around to slide down. Not the most conventional way to do it but she loves it! :)

LONG Sunday!

We had kind of a rough weekend...I have been battling something like a cold the past few days and was not feeling very well when I finally went to bed around 11:00 on Saturday night. Right before 1:00 AM Madelyn woke up and did not want to go back to sleep. We rocked, dozed and cuddled for almost an hour and Madelyn was still awake. I tried to put her down and she was not having any of it - she was very upset. I let her cry for a few minutes until I realized she was not going back to sleep...when I went back in to get her she not only had taken her pants off but she also had taken her diaper off!! So after a new diaper and some milk, we made camp on the couch. Another hour later and Madelyn was no closer to sleep so I decided to do something I try not to do - took Madelyn to bed with me. It still took her a while to settle down but she finally did go back to sleep around 4:00 AM.
Needless to say, I was not feeling well this morning and was very tired all day long!! Madelyn was also tired and cranky all day. She was all over the house all day long and I had no energy to chase her around today, so this is what our house looks like after a VERY long Sunday!

Photoshop Playtime!

My newest photoshop creation - still playing around with settings and such...what do you think??

Madelyn at 15 Months!!

Today we went to Madelyn's 15 month doctor's appointment...Here are her stats!
Weight: 27 pounds (93%)
Height: 32 inches (88%)
Head Circumfrance: 18 inches (50%)
Teeth: 16!!
Dr. Curry was very impressed with Madelyn (as always!). He says that she is progressing very well and even a little bit ahead. Her soft spot is almost closed (typically closes between 15 and 18 months), she is very skilled in walking and running, has started to climb on EVERYTHING, and has LOTS of teeth. He was impressed that she already has 16 teeth - she has them all minus her two year molars (at the rate that Madelyn is getting teeth, she will probably get them sooner rather than later!). He says that she will probably go through a phase soon where she will eat less and become more picky (**Edited: Madelyn hardly ate any dinner tonight - she wanted nothing of it!! So unlike her!!). He also wants her completely off bottles. We have been having morning and night milk in a bottle still simply because we do not have a whole lot of sippy cups. Madelyn does not care how she gets milk as long as she got it so I went to Target on the way home and got more sippy cups and took the left over bottles out of the drawer!
Here are some things Madelyn is doing at 15 months!
Animal Sounds: alligator (she says chomp, chomp), cat, dog, pig, bear, monkey, duck (sometimes)
Words she signs: all done, more, eat, milk, water, Dada, thank you, Gigi, Aunt Hallie, blows kisses when you tell her you love her!
Words she says: Dada, Mama, Gigi, Layla, ball, eye, that, hi, bye bye, Tiger
She loves to climb, run, read books, throw balls, give kisses, and play outside
She can point to her tummy, eye and nose
I think that I say this every stage but this might be my favorite age! I love that she is so active and responsive. She is so much fun to play with!! I can't wait to see what lays ahead! :)
