What a Big Baby!

I can't believe that our little love bug is 7 1/2 months old!

We Love Daddy!

Maddie loves her Daddy!! She is such a Daddy's girl and lights up whenever they are together! We are now working on her saying Dada and Mama and clapping - stay tuned :)

Crazy Baby :)

Madelyn has some new crazy tricks! At daycare she loves to crawl under the exersaucer when other babies are in it, she takes their socks off and chews on them! She is such a strange baby :) She also loves to crawl over and under anything - her favorites are high chairs! :) Madelyn is becoming a SUPER crawler! She crawls around the whole house now - she loves to crawl on the tile and hear the slapping sound her hands make. Whenever she is crawling towards something that she is not supposed to have, we call her name and she starts to crawl faster and laugh, like she knows that she is doing something that she should not! We are in trouble :)

Madelyn also loves to "play" her bongos! She is very musical :)

SuperBowl Sunday!

This is the way the Bird Family spent SuperBowl Sunday: While Mommy and Daddy were trying to watch the game, Madelyn was bound and determined to have the spotlight on her! Notice all the toys around her - we were trying to keep her occupied :)

Rough Weekend

We have not posted much because we are so tired!! Madelyn is still fighting the croup and in the meantime, is not sleeping very well. She does not feel well and it is worse when she lays down. After a not very restful weekend lets hope that she gets back on schedule this week! No new pictures yet...will get my camera back out soon.

Sick!

Madelyn has croup. (spelling??) It is a respiratory virus that must run its course. She is not feeling too bad but has a nasty cough! Lets hope that her great sleeping habits can continue through this :)

I am feeling very nostaglic lately - I really miss my little baby. Derek and I love this stage that Madelyn is in now, so happy and active but sometimes I miss the little cuddlebug.

Visitors

Yesterday we had visitors. Madelyn was so well behaved. She played, laughed and even took a nap while they were here. We also took Madelyn out to a real restaurant for the first time since she was little. She actually sat in a high chair and looked around and played with her toys. She was so good, I think that she really enjoyed looking at all the sights!

7 months old

Madelyn in 7 months old today!!! I cannot believe how big she is getting...I miss my little baby but I am loving this stage! She is so happy and curious and just full of life :) Another tooth has broken through yesterday and she has another one is very close to breaking through! Madelyn can now also go from a sitting position to crawling but cannot go from crawling to sitting yet!! She is too busy to sit for long - she likes to be on the move. We had some visitors today - look for pictures tomorrow :)

Caged!

Now that Madelyn is mobile we have had to set up some "road blocks" for her. I had to put up her play pen in the living room so that I could get some cleaning done! **Notice that Maddie is up on her feet in this picture...she is trying to hard to get up and walk! I recently read in a parenting magazine that when kids become mobile you should set up an "obstacle course" for them using towels, pillows, chairs, ect. This helps them move around and it also begins to teach them over, under, around, ect. I am going to try this weekend! Stay tuned for fun pictures :)

Pretty Girl!

I know that I am the mommy and I am supposed to think this but Madelyn could be the cutest baby in the world! :) She is so precious and I can't imagine loving anything or anyone more!

New House!

Not really a new house but we decided after building this house over two years ago, maybe we should paint or decorate. So we did! Enjoy the before and after pictures.

Silly Picture

This is what Madelyn looks like most days when she wakes up from her nap. She like to sleep face down with her hands covering her face. This makes for really cute face marks when she wakes up :) I love the bed hair (or fuzz!)

Curious Baby

Madelyn is so curious! She wants to be into and a part of everything. She is a crawling machine and pretty much goes where ever she wants to! She is also trying to pull up already, she is on her knees and trying to figure out how to get to her feet! It is only a matter of time untill I am we are really in trouble :)

Happiest Baby in the World!!!

This is how Madelyn wakes up from most of her naps and in the morning!!! She is such a happy baby and loves to grin and laugh!! She is such a joy and I feel lucky to be a mommy to such a sweet baby :)

BOWS!

This is Mommy's new project: making hair bows for Maddie!! It is so fun and she LOVES wearing them :). She was having such a good time posing in her bows, but she would not keep her eyes open. The pictures are so cute anyway that I will keep them :) Love her!!!

We are in trouble!! :)

Madelyn is officially crawling!!! She had been having some bad days in daycare the past couple of day (she was having Mommy withdrawl) so I went to visit her during my conference period today. When I walked in the room, the teachers told me that they had something to show me...I walked close to where Madelyn was playing on the floor and she crawled to me!!! It was so cute and she was so happy with herself. She was lauging the whole time while I, of course, was crying!!! I will try and get pictures soon :) What a happy baby :)

We got ourselves an outside girl!

Since it has be so beautiful the past few days, Madelyn and I have spent a lot of time playing outside. She LOVES to be outside. She is so content to look around, explore the grass, laugh at the dogs and feel the wind on her face. She loves watching the dogs run around and laughs anytime they come near. She is fascinated with the grass, raking her hand through it and discovering its texture!! What a precious gift!!! She was very interested in what the dogs were up to!

sippy cups

Now that Madelyn is over 6 months old and very interested in drinking out of cups, bottles, ect I decided it was time for Madelyn to try a sippy cup. While sitting in her high chair, she does not really understand the concept on pulling it up to drink from, she really just chews on the spout....But when she is laying on the floor, she really enjoys drinking from it and playing with it.

Doctors!!

Today Madelyn and I went to the doctors for her 6 month check up. She not only got three shots this morning but also developed stranger fear!! The minute that the nurse took her from me to weigh her, Madelyn started crying huge crocodile tears. It made me so sad but she was OK when I got to hold her again :). The doctor said that Maddie is weighing in like a 12 month old and is as long as a 11 month old. I was concerned at first that she was too big but the doctor said that her height and weight are proportionate so not to worry - just a big girl :) She also now has three teeth so the doctor said that she is really progressing ahead of schedule! The doctor also said that we can start even more table food soon - she can now have cheerios, smashed bananas and such. Stay tuned for fun pictures from that :)

We are baby free tonight!! Thanks to my parents for babysitting Madelyn tonight so that Derek and I can have a night to ourselves!!! More tomorrow :)

More Teeth!!

Madelyn already has two bottom teeth and now she is working on cutting a top tooth. It is slowly coming through. The first two teeth were not really bothersome but this one sure is!! I think that it is going to be bigger than the other two so it is hurting her more...It has just broken the skin so lets hope that helps ease some of her pain :)

Daddy's Girl

Maddie is such a Daddy's girl!! She loves playing with her Daddy! :)

Mommy has a new hobby - bow making!! It so so fun and they are turning out really cute :)

Christmas Time and Fun with Family

Madelyn had a wonderful first Christmas - she was much more interested in the wrapping paper and boxes than the actual presents :). We also went down to Belton to visit with some family - she was very happy and had a wonderful time :)
