Self Feeding

We are trying to learn to self feed here! We have tried it a few times (letting Madelyn have the food and a fork/spoon and letting her go to town) and I was pleasently suprised at how well she did. She prefers it now and eats better when I let her do it. Sure, she makes a mess but she is having fun :)

After Madelyn was born we received a gift from a family friend of a stool with "Maddie" on it. Madelyn has always loved this stool. A few weekends ago, after a diaper change, Madelyn wanted to play with the stool. When I went to get my camera she wanted me to put a clip in her hair and gave me the cheesiest smile! She is all about the camera lately! What a ham!!

Little Helper

A few days ago we were trying to pick out some paint for our living room and breakfast room. Madelyn was so interested in the paint samples...she loves to look at them and pick out some colors for Momma and Dadda!!

Shorts Weather

This weekend we had wonderful weather so we dusted off our shorts and played outside. We cleaned up Madelyn's water table and she had a ball :). I love beautiful weather!

14.5 Week Bump

Totally embarrassed to be posting this HORRIBLE picture but I really want to record my bump through out the pregnancy! I have totally 'popped'. I feel like I look so much bigger than 14 weeks! Anyway, here is the humiliating proof :)

Bubbles!

I am finally getting some pictures from the last few weeks posted. A few weekends ago it was so great outside that we spent almost the entire weekend outside!! Madelyn loved chasing around bubbles!

ICE!

This child LOVES ice! She asks for it everytime we stop at a gas station and wants some from all of our drinks. It has come in handy several times in trying to keep her occupied when we are out to eat! She would eat only ice all day if I let her!

Little Kicks? Already?

At 13 weeks and 6 days, I swear I felt the baby kick tonight for the first time. I was sitting at Sonic waiting for my diet cherry limeade (a craving for both Derek and I!) and I had my book wedged in between my belly and the steering wheel (yes, I am a super dork and take a book wherever I go!). Where the book was laying on my tummy, there was a definite moving going on. When I would move the book, it would stop - what do you think? Derek thinks it way too early and I am imagining it - it is really early but I truly think it was kicking! You other Momma's out there, when did you first feel kicking. I think I was around 18 weeks with Madelyn when it was super obvious that she was kicking!

Redo

I took a few days off blogging this weekend because we were SUPER busy! We painted our living room, shampooed the carpets, rearranged the furniture and repainted the breakfast room. Here are some pictures of the completed living room - all there is left to do is get curtains and some new throw pillows! The breakfast room is not completed yet...

OB Appointment - 14 weeks (almost)

I had another appointment with my OB this morning. It was a very quick and painless appointment. First came the weigh-in. I am only up 3 pounds overall. The doctor was not too concerned because the baby (and my belly) are growing but she would like to see me gain a little more weight. (I gained so much with Madelyn that it is strange to be told to gain more weight!) Next up was blood pressure. It was 136/76. Not very high but a little elevated. The doctor said that it will not be concerning until after 20 weeks. We will just sit and watch it until then. Then came the fun part - listening to the heartbeat. After Dr. Patton felt the belly, she broke out the doppler. She was able to find the heartbeat right away and it was so reassuring to hear that little sound! The heartbeat this time was 154 bpm. I have another appointment with Dr. Patton in four weeks and then an Ultrasound 2 weeks after that to check the sex!! Only 6 more weeks until we find out if it is new baby girl or baby boy! YEA...

Nose

Madelyn is so funny...If she sees anyone with a tissue, she will ask for one by saying 'nose' and crinkling her nose up. She will then wipe her nose and throw the tissue away. She wants a tissue every time she sees one whether or not she really needs one! What a funny little girl :)
