Curious Little Girl!

Madelyn is so curious about everything and how it works. The other night in the bathtub, she was so intent to figure out how the water comes out of the duck...She spent her whole bathtime trying to figure this out. What a cutie :)

Just My Size!!

Even when Madelyn was a tiny baby, she has always loved the vacuum cleaner. It has never scared her, in fact she has always thought it was funny. Now that she is getting older and wants to 'help' Mommy do everything, she is very interested in pushing my vacuum around...So, when I saw this I knew she had to have it! Madelyn loves it and will come vacuum anywhere I tell her is dirty :). What a good little helper :)

Bumblebees!

Just recently, Madelyn has developed a seemingly random and irrational fear of flying (and non-flying) insects which she deems "bumblebees." We have no idea where this fear comes from - I am not even sure she has ever seen a real bumblebee. Whenever we go outside, Mommy or Daddy has to scope the place out for "bumblebees" and when it is all clear (which it always is) Madelyn can check the place out...Once that is done, she is ready to play :).

"What's Dis?"

I think that I hear "What's Dis Mommy?" about 500 times a day!! She is such a curious little girl and wants to know the name of everything - even if she already knows the name! I think this is why she has such an extensive vocabulary - she is never quiet or still :). Especially when we are outside, Madelyn spends the time running around the backyard pointing at things for me to name! :)

A Little Overprotective??

Madelyn wants to be very independent lately...especially in the swimming pool. She wants to swim on her own (which is good since we start swim lessons on the 15th) but Mommy is not as comfortable about her being on her own in the pool. She does not want to be held and does not want to sit in her floats. So...I had to find something else for her. We decided to try this life vest for Gigi's pool since Madelyn cannot stand in it! She LOVES it. She is still not totally independent but she feels that she is and Mommy feels better! :)

Family Fun

Yesterday afternoon, after a great nap from Madelyn, we loaded up and headed south to visit my grandma (Nannie), my dad (PawPaw) and my stepmom (Betsy). Madelyn has been feeling a little under the weather (she caught Mommy's cold) so I was not sure how smooth this evening would go but she did great! We got there, played a little bit then headed out to a yummy dinner. After dinner we came back to the house and played on the golf course until dark. We headed home around 8:30 and thought for sure Madelyn would fall asleep in the car. But, no...she did not go to bed until after 10! :) We had a great time!

Look What I Found!

I was going through my May picture folder and found this cute picture in there! This is right before her first haircut and I was playing around with her hair! What a precious little one, too bad she will never keep anything in her hair! :)

We have stayed super busy the last few weeks with birthday parties, swimming and playing outside. It is wearing Mommy out but Madelyn loves it!

June Desktop Calender

New Park

Madelyn and I went to a new park yesterday evening. We went right before dinner and bedtime so we did not stay for very long but Madelyn did seem to enjoy it. It was not as toddler friendly as our regular park so she could not be as independent as she wanted to be but this is a place we will visit again.

Not a huge fan of the sand (just like her Mama!). She did not like it in her shoes and did not want to sit down...Needless to say, this did not last long! :)

Little Miss Independent

Madelyn's new favorite phrases are "Go, Mommy" (or Daddy) and "Me do it!". She has become very independent lately, wanting to do everything on her own. She is growing up so much lately and I cannot believe that in less than a month our little baby girl will be 2!
